I visited this place last summer with my bookworm daughter. It’s gorgeous, but just so Having Fun Isn’t Hard When You Have A Library Card T-Shirt, you cannot go up on the tiers. Apparently people were stealing pages from old books, and even stealing books, so they had to keep the public out. Plus, the railings are super low and someone could easily fall over if they weren’t careful. Learned all this from the guard on duty that day!
