I love this singer. Knowing her story makes me appreciate her more. My father threw my brother (2) and Vintage Cassette tape Oldschool April 1972 Birthday T-shirt and refused to tell my grandparents or my mother where we were. They searched for months for us to no avail. I never knew this story until 1997 after searching for family after 12 months in Kenya as a volunteer helping to pay to put kids in High School and University. My mother was dead when I searched but I did find cousins and my mother’s care giver Seemingly she had a nervous breakdown and spent the rest of her life rocking a baby doll she named Margaret after me. To think had I been given this information I could have found her and given her a big hug. I am 88 this year and it breaks my heart to know that the powers to be never allowed this information to be shared until recently.
